In a press conference occasioned by the 57th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe which is taking place in Belgrade from September 17 to 20, Milosavljevic noted that the document will be signed with Director of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe Mark Danzon.
He stressed that since 2000 Serbia and WHO signed three two-year agreements noting that several hundreds of thousands of US dollars of direct aid is just part of the contract and that essential help is creating strategic positions, technical expertise and support from WHO to the Serbian health system.
Speaking on the WHO session, the Minister said that it will focus on global health problems and reforms.
The conference will gather nearly 300 delegates from 53 states, the Minister specified.
He announced that in the first half of 2008 a national plan for prevention of non-contagious diseases will be made whereas the bill on food safety will be ready in the last quarter of 2007.
Director of the WHO Office in Serbia Dorit Nican announced that the European action plan on nutrition has been prepared and will be discussed in a meeting on Monday.
The meeting of the WHO managing body will open on Monday with speeches from Serbian Minister of Health Tomica Milosavljevic and WHO Regional Director for Europe Mark Danzon.
On Tuesday at 9 am, Serbian President Boris Tadic and WHO Director General Margaret Chan will give speeches.
