Serbian Minister of Education Zoran Loncar stated today that during the first 100 days of work the Ministry has worked on preparations and implementation of new organisational and personnel changes and enrollment of students in secondary schools and faculties.

Loncar said that a new job classification has been adopted and announced changes in the education sector.
He said that a special inspection sector was formed to monitor work of educational institutions and sanction irregularities.
Educational policy will be based on three principles: education must be of strategic importance for the overall development of Serbia, long and good educational tradition and well-conceived and gradual reform, Loncar explained.
He announced work on educational strategy and drafts of a set of education-related laws.
He said that the process of accreditation of post-secondary schools was successfully completed and announced that accreditation of faculties starts on October 1 and must be completed by June 2009.
