Cubrilo told a press conference on the occasion of 100 days of Ministry’s work that the Ministry’s aim is to establish partner relations with representatives of the Diaspora that wants to invest in their homeland.
She announced that the Ministry plans to open centres for the Diaspora in all 17 regional chambers of commerce and recalled that three such centres were already opened in Zajecar, Uzice and Leskovac.
According to estimates, some two to four million Serbs live in the Diaspora, whereas 30,000 of them voted in the last elections, the Minister said noting that their number in the elections should increase.
She announced activities for providing textbooks and teachers for studying Serbian abroad.
The Minister also expressed hope that Serbian driving licences will be valid in Italy soon and announced her visit to Italy at the end of the month.
One of Ministry’s priorities will be to address the issue of military service for young men living abroad, she said and noted that it was agreed in principle with the Ministry of Defence on the possibility to buy off military duty.
