Foreign Ministers of Serbia and Lithuania, Vuk Jeremic and Petras Vaitiekunas, signed today in Belgrade a double taxation avoidance agreement between the two countries.
Jeremic told a press conference that the agreement will contribute to successful economic cooperation between the two countries.
The Minister stressed that a survey of public opinion in Lithuania indicates that bilateral relations are at a very high level, adding that this Baltic country offers full support to the process of European integration in Serbia which is the central strategic goal of the Serbian government.
According to Jeremic, the survey also shows that there is strong support for further EU expansion.
Vaitiekunas, who is the first Lithuanian foreign minister to officially visit Belgrade, said that the agreement will make economic cooperation easier.
He said that Lithuania has already invested more than €50 million in Serbia, adding that Serbian businesspeople are invited to come to Lithuania and get to know that market.
