Jeremic told Spain’s El Pais daily that it is not difficult to explain to the Spanish what dangers lie behind unilateralism and a philosophy that threatens violence, adding that this is what is happening in Kosovo – the threat of violence if Kosovo fails to secede from Serbia.
Jeremic, who was on official visit to Madrid yesterday, pointed out that this is a very dangerous philosophy and something that must not be tolerated and is actually not tolerated in many countries of Europe, including Spain.
He stressed that he does believe that the EU is interested in instability and a new conflict emerging in the Balkans.
Explaining the deep, historic and cultural connections of Serbs with Kosovo, Jeremic stressed that the best solution for the province’s status is the highest degree of autonomy possible that would allow Kosovo to be a member of international institutions, such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
According to Jeremic, Serbia does not want to renounce part of its territory just like France, Korea or Spain would not want to.
