Inclusion of Gamzigrad in UNESCO list great honour and obligation for Serbia

President of the Serbian National Commission in UNESCO Jovan Cirilov said today that the inclusion of Felix Romuliana palace (Gamzigrad) near Zajecar in UNESO list of the world cultural heritage is a great honour and obligation for Serbia.
Cirilov told Beta news agency that UNESCO voiced satisfaction with the work done by the Serbian Institute for Protection of Monuments of Culture on the presentation and preparation of the locality for the world heritage list.
Inscription of Gamzigrad on UNESCO list is a great honour because it has been included among pearls of world culture, such as Louvre in Paris, the Hermitage in Saint Petersburg, Kremlin in Moscow or the Great Wall in China.
Felix Romuliana, a monument of the Roman court architecture was made by Roman Emperor Caius Valerius Galerius Maximianus in the late 3rd and early 4th century and he dedicated it to his mother Romula.
