Serbian Minister of Environmental Protection Sasa Dragin said that this Ministry is the first state institution to have adopted a Code of conduct for employees which is not legally binding, but is necessary for the sake of better quality of work and services to citizens.
Speaking at a press conference organised by the Ministry, Dragin voiced hope that other public institutions will follow the Ministry's example because ethical behaviour, open and police communication with others is a basis for better team work.
He warned that no activities or legal regulations will have effect if we altogether do not try to raise citizens' awareness of the necessity of protecting the environment and our country's riches.
Speaking about the plans for the next period, Dragin said that the Ministry's priority will be to adopt a number of laws from the field of ecology and the Law on ratification of the Kyoto Protocol should enter the urgent parliamentary procedure soon.
The Minister said that the Ministry has already finished or is preparing the laws on air protection, protection of nature, waste disposal and protection from excessive noise.
