This year the festival includes films by world renowned Serbian directors such as Srdjan Karanovic, Goran Paskaljevic and Zdravko Sotra, as well as by those directors who have just begun their career, such as Miroslav Momcilovic, Vidan Papic and Oleg Novkovic.
Those Serbian directors who work in France, such as Misko Necak and Goran Music, will also take part in the festival.
The festival director is Aleksandar Todorovic this year as well, and the festival is being organised by his association “Balkan Slav Spirit” from Paris.
At the cocktail last night, guests were addressed by Serbian Minister for Diaspora Milica Cubrilo, Belgrade culture secretary Darijan Mihajlovic and Serbian Ambassador to France Predrag Simic, who support the festival on behalf of Serbia.
The Serbian ministries of culture and Diaspora and the Belgrade City Assembly provided financial support to the festival, other sponsors are construction company Intermost, and two French companies.
The opening was attended by film directors Sotra, Karanovic, Papic, Momcilovic, Music and Necak, as well as actors Dragan Nikolic and Goran Radakovic.
