“Promise Me This” to open first Serbian film festival

Organisers of the first film festival of Serbia, which will be held from July 3 to 8 in Novi Sad, stated that this event will be opened with a Serbian premiere of the new film by Emir Kusturica “Promise Me This”, which was recently shown in Cannes.

Manager of the Exit association Sagor Meskovic, who is organising the festival together with the Film Centre of Serbia, stated at a press conference that a total of 14 films will compete for 14 awards at the first national film festival, which aims to promote Serbian films and directors.
The festival programme is almost complete and soon information will be given regarding which films are in the competitive category, as well as the content of accompanying events, said Meskovic and added that awards will be decided by an international jury.
The programmes for the festival “Exit 007”, the children’s’ sports event “Zmajevi”, as well as photography exhibitions by the news agency Beta were also presented at the press conference.
Spokesperson of Exit Srdjan Mutavdzic said that the four-day entry tickets for the festival, which will be held from July 12 to 15 in the Petrovaradinska Fort, will be available until June 11 for RSD 4,490, while later the price will be higher.
He stressed that those performing will include internationally renowned bands and solo artists, such as the Beastie Boys, WU-Tang Clan, Snoop Dog, and Robert Plant. He added that this year there is great interest regarding the seven-day Exit camp where 1,000 places are still available.
