After the signing of these documents in the premises of SANU, Hajdin voiced satisfaction with continuation of cooperation with the supreme scientific institution of Romania.
He said that the signing of the Protocol is proof that overall relations between Romania and Serbia are developing and improving and that they will contribute to an equal and sustainable development of the region.
Since Romania became a member of the European Union this year, cooperation with the Romanian Academy should help Serbian scientists and researchers take part in EU projects, the SANU president said.
Along with the signing of the Agreement and the Protocol, a thematic plan of cooperation to 2009 was also adopted. It includes 22 research projects from the field of natural, technical, historical sciences and humanities.
The delegation of the Romanian Academy, which includes Haiduc, Vice President Marius Sala and Secretary General Ioan Paun Otiman, will also visit the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade, where they will speak with professors and students from the Department for Romanian Language, the SANU office in Novi Sad and Matica Srpska.
