Promotion of religious freedoms among Religion Ministry’s priorities

Serbian Minister of Religion Radomir Naumov said today that priorities of the Ministry of Religion will include promotion of religious freedoms, promotion of church culture, cooperation with the Council of Europe, implementation of EU standards in religious teaching and religious tolerance.

In an interview with Vecernje Novosti daily, Naumov said that the Ministry will continue with the policy that the government so far exercised in relation to churches and religious communities and will try to further develop those relations.
The government will continue to implement the Law on churches and religious communities, the Minister said and noted that religion in Serbia has got the position like in other developed modern democratic societies and is accepted as important factor of social life.
According to the Minister, the relation between the state and the church is grounded in the Law on churches and religious communities.
