Film "Promise Me This" by Emir Kusturica will be screened on May 26. Kusturica already won the Palme d'Or at Cannes twice for “When Father Was Away on Business” and “Underground” in 1985 and in 1995 whereas in 1989 he got the Cannes Best Director Award.
Pavle Vuckovic will also appear in Cannes on May 24. Three years ago he won the first prize in Cannes in the programme "Cinefondation" with a short movie "Run Rabbit Run", and this year he participates with the movie "Minus", produced by the Belgrade Faculty of Drama Arts.
Within the non-competitive part, four more movies whose authors are Serbs or are in some other way related to Serbia will be screened - "Film Noir" (the first Serbian animated feature movie) by Srdja Penezic and Risto Topalski, "Yin" by Nemanja Valjarevic, "Presentation" of young Belgrade director Katarina O'Hearn (produced by Centar Film) and "Milan" by German director Michaela Kezele, with Serbian actors and Serbian producer Danijel Ljubinkovic.
