International tourism fair to be held from April 26 to 29

Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Services Bojan Dimitrijevic said today that the International tourism fair that will be held in Belgrade from April 26 to 29 and will gather 750 exhibitors from the country and abroad.

Dimitrijevic said at a press conference that at this fair, Austria, Israel, Poland and Indonesia will have organised presentations for the first time, as well as tourist agencies from Italy, Thailand, Brazil and Montenegro.

The traditional Serbian Tourist Organisation (TOS) "tourist flower" award will be given at this fair, while the most successful exhibitors will be given awards of the International tourism fair.

TOS Director Miodrag Popovic said on the occasion that the tourist organisation Sky from Hong Kong has included Serbia in its programme for 2007 -2008, so we can soon expect to have guests from that country.

Popovic said that the good promotion campaign of Serbia has resulted in an increase of 19% in tourists coming to Serbia, against the same period last year. He added that a crew from Russian national television will soon record a short film on Serbian culture and tourism.

Director of the Tourist Organisation of Belgrade Olivera Lazovic said that Belgrade will be represented at the fair at two points, especially as the host city and in the hall with other cities.

Lazovic explained that directly before the beginning of the fair the Belgrade congress brochure will be presented, and voiced hope that the congress activity in Belgrade will attract even more foreign tourists and businesspeople.
