Speaking at a press conference held after the government session, Loncar said that the Serbian government hopes that after the visit of the mission of the UN Security Council to Belgrade and Pristina, the negotiations on the future status of Kosovo-Metohija will be continued in the foreseeable future.
The Minister said that the government also hopes that the Security Council will appoint a new international mediator and that all that together should help find a compromise solution of the Serbian and Albanian sides.
According to Loncar, that solution would entirely uphold principles on which international order rests, above all the UN Charter and other relevant international legal documents.
When it comes to the members of the negotiating team for talks on the future status of Kosovo-Metohija, Loncar recalled that the team was formed through the Resolution adopted by Serbian parliament and this is an issue exclusively of its jurisdiction.
He said that the government brought a decision at its session today regarding the establishment of interim administration in the municipalities of Bogatic and Kula, and that the legal basis for the decision was the failure of the presidents of these municipalities to withdraw from office.
