Opening the presentation, Director of the
National Information Technology and Internet Agency Slobodan Vuckovic stressed that the electronic government internet portal can freely be called an electronic office of the 21st century, where citizens, businesspeople and all others interested can receive information they require from the state and use various services.
The electronic government internet portal which has been established is the first step which has been made by the administration with the aim of providing electronic services to interested citizens, and state institutions continue to develop electronic service, explained Vuckovic.
He said that the internet portal has been designed in accordance with and on the basis of the Strategy for Public Administration Reform and the Action Plan for development of public administration, adopted last year.
According to Vuckovic, citizens will be able to use twelve and businesspeople eight services on the website
www.euprava.gov.yu.
Vuckovic said that the website shows how to fill in forms for reporting Value Added Tax (VAT), or which documents are required for obtaining an identity card or those looking for a job may consult the page of the National Employment Service and instantly fill in and submit applications.
PKS Director Ljubisa Dimitrijevic said that the establishment of this portal is a true turning point in providing services to citizens, which is the main task of any government and state.
Dimitrijevic recalled that last year the PKS started the
Serbian business portal, which is a unique instrument for providing support in advancing business, increasing export, productivity, raising the level of business culture and bringing the Serbian economy to modern standards.
Today’s presentation was organised by the National Information Technology and Internet Agency in cooperation with the PKS, Serbian Ministry of Science and Environmental Protection and the US embassy in Serbia.
Together with the presentation, a ceremony was held for handing out certificates to participants of the seminar Project Management for Public Administration which the National Information Technology and Internet Agency realised in cooperation with the US embassy in Serbia. Speeches by experts from the US embassy and the companies IBM and Microsoft were also held.
The project electronic government internet portal was carried out in accordance with the strategy for development of information society of Serbia and is the first step taken in the realisation of one of the aims defined by the action plan which regards the establishment of integrated electronic government services.
The software solutions for the portal use the most modern technologies, and contain the basic services of electronic government which are defined by EU standards.
