Ristanovic told a press conference that the Ministry of Finance demanded that the National Employment Service continues with the temporary financing for the next three months, according to which the service should get RSD 5.3 billion from the budget.
He said that as in the previous year, RSD 650 million has been planned for active employment measures for the next quarter, which is 50% less than envisaged by the 2007 National Action Plan for Employment.
According to Ristanovic, the remaining funds will be used to pay out compensations to the unemployed and recalled that in the last three months the number of the unemployed was reduced by 10,000, which can partly be attributed to the implementation of the rulebook on health insurance.
However, according to the National Employment Service’s data, there remain around 300,000 people below 30 years of age awaiting employment, said Ristanovic and announced that a special action plan for employing young people will be prepared together with the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Policy.
Ristanovic said that cooperation with other employment services in neighbouring countries has been planned and added that the National Employment Service also intends to pay special attention to cooperation with private employment agencies, local employment advisors and employers.
