Speaking at a press conference held after the regular government session, Bubalo said that by approving the Programme of maintenance, protection, construction and reconstruction of main and regional roads in Serbia for the year 2007, the renovation of Serbian roads will be continued.
He said that the Conclusion on the need of signing an agreement on financing the programme for water supply and sewage systems in middle-sized municipalities in Serbia was accepted.
This project is worth €30 million, and the German KfW is financing it by providing two thirds or €20 million of the sum required, explained Bubalo. He added that the funds have been provided as non-repayable assistance in the form of a donation.
According to Bubalo, the remaining €10 million will be provided by local self-governments by taking loans according to their capacity for credit making.
Bubalo said that the government at its session today brought the Decision on the candidature of Serbia for the seat of the Regional Cooperation Council, and all necessary consultations regarding the matter have been conducted, during which it was assessed that Serbia fulfills all conditions for Belgrade to become the centre of regional cooperation.
He said that this would be of great importance and benefit for Serbia, and added that in that regard the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been allotted concrete tasks for monitoring and undertaking all activities to make Belgrade such a centre.
