In a press conference held at the Serbian Ministry for Diaspora, Djordjevic explained that this organisation was formed at the initiative of the Diaspora in the centre of Europe, Brussels, to be the point where those who are interested could get informed about Serbia in all fields.
He stressed that the Institute through “public diplomacy” is trying to promote Serbia’s interests in European institutions, particularly in four domains: public affairs, business and economy, culture and tourism as well as connections within the Diaspora.
According to him, this organisation will help Serbian businesspeople to be more competitive in support programmes of the EU as well as Serbian firms outside the country to better promote their interests.
Spokesperson of the Institute Borka Tomic said that the Institute started the project “Serbian Brand” aimed at promoting the best from Serbia, including raspberries, collective sports, Guca and Exit festivals.
She announced that the Institute will also organise a presentation on Friday, March 9, at the Brand Fair, where fashion models will be persons who can become Serbian brands.
Founder and President of the Institute Zoran Milinkovic noted that Serbia is not using the potential of the Diaspora enough to promote its image in the world.
