Markovic told a press conference that the programme of reconstruction of the Banjska monastery near Zvecan, in the northern part of Kosovo-Metohija, consists of three segments. She added that the plan of general reconstruction of the Banjska settlement was made by the Serbian Bureau for Protection of Monuments of Culture and it will be finalised by the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade.
The facilities in the centre of the settlement will be made by academician Milan Lojanica, the pilgrimage centre architect Svetislav Licina, while the residential, representative facility for reception of church dignitaries and statesmen will be made by the City of Belgrade, Markovic said.
The plan of the health centre will be made by the Belgrade City Planning Bureau, while the sports centre and free and park areas will be prepared by two Belgrade faculties - of Agriculture and Forestry.
She recalled that several ministries joined in the campaign for reconstruction of the monastery complex - for capital investment, culture, labour, employment and social care, religion, energy and mining, and agriculture, forestry and water management, which provided approximately RSD 33 million.
The reconstruction of the Banjska monastery is the model of reconstruction of a monument of culture, Markovic said and voiced hope that all monasteries in northern Kosovo-Metohija will be rebuilt.
