Serbian Assistant Minister of Education and Sport for higher education Emilija Stankovic stated today that there are more and more schools in Serbia filing requests for accreditations and noted that the deadline for submittal of elaborates expires today.
Stankovic told a press conference that schools that fail to file requests and elaborates will not be allowed to receive new students in the 2007/08 academic year and said that the schools that submitted complete documentation will be made public in the coming days.
She said that the accreditation for schools should be completed by April and added that if a school does not get accreditation, the Minister of Education and Sport will establish where the students from those schools can continue their education.
There are 49 state and 39 private higher schools in Serbia, Stankovic said and presented the publication “Accreditation in Higher Education” published by the Ministry of Education and Sport.
She also said that the book offers all information for accreditation of a higher school and pointed out that apart from the Serbian version, an English version of the book will be published next week.
