Last year 20,000 leasing contracts registered in Serbia

Registrar for the registry of financial leasing and security rights over personal property at the Business Registers Agency Tanja Vukotic-Marinkovic said today that in 2006, this agency registered some 20,000 contracts on financial leasing in the total value of over €500 million.
She told a press conference that currently some 50,000 leasing contracts are active in Serbia, of which 44% refer to the leasing for passenger, agricultural and freight vehicles.
According to her, 8,000 contracts were signed into the register of pledges last year with claims worth over RSD 30 billion, €2.4 million, $52 million and 58 million Swiss francs.
Deputy Director of the Agency Nikoleta Vucenovic said that some 40,000 new entrepreneurs were registered last year in Serbia, which is 50% more than in the past 15 years.
