Special Prosecutor for Organised Crime Slobodan Radovanovic said today that the inclusion of Serbia’s Prosecutor’s Office in the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities is a major recognition and honour which is the result of work done in the previous year.

Radovanovic told a press conference that the prosecution will continue its firm fight against corruption into this year, and added that a law on confiscating property acquired through organised crime should be adopted.
He said that a network of special prosecutors will be formed in Serbia, and added that prosecutors dealing with financial cases will be helped by financial experts. An international conference on confiscating property acquired through organised crime will be held in Belgrade.
Serbian Justice Minister Zoran Stojkovic said that special prosecutor Radovanovic and president of the Anti-corruption commission of the Ministry of Justice Aleksandra Popovic were admitted to the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities, together with the Serbian prosecution organisation.
Stojkovic recalled that Serbia adopted the Strategy for judiciary reform and that a law on an independent anti-corruption body is undergoing parliamentary procedure. He announced that a law on managing confiscated property will be adopted as well.
