Serbian Minister of Religion Milan Radulovic congratulated today Hanukkah holiday to the president of the Association of Jewish communities in Serbia Aca Singer, chief rabbi of the Jewish community Isak Asiel and to all Jews in Serbia.
"I extended congratulations with all my heart to the Jewish community in Serbia on the occasion of great holiday Hanukkah. Struggling to keep their freedom and identity, the Jews have affirmed that God does not want people to be slaves - not even to Him, let alone to each other. God does not like that one people kills and destroys the other, but that all of them live together in mutual understanding and freedom. The Jewish people has passed through both temptations - through slavery and monstrous extermination. That is why today it has the right to testify to everyone that God is a supreme and equal justice for all people and nations.
Modern Serbia can read and follow historical experiences and that is why it wants to provide equal justice to all peoples and freedom for every man in its entire territory, including Kosovo-Metohija. We deeply respect the role of our small Jewish community in these humane civilisation efforts and we rejoice with all believers in the upcoming holiday," reads the greeting of the religion minister.
