Slobodan Vuksanovic at today's press conference
Vuksanovic told a press conference that more than 80,000 copies of exercise books for the 2007/08 school year have been printed in the Serbian language as well as in national minority languages.
According to Vuksanovic, the exercise books have been printed much earlier than was done in previous years and some 15% of exercises have been changed.
Students have more than one term to get prepared for the entrance examination, Vuksanovic recalled.
Vuksanovic said that the Serbian government should adopt a plan prepared by a working group, noting that all ministries have a unified scheme for creating the work plan.
Assistant Minister of Education and Sport in charge of secondary education Bogoljub Lazarevic said that this year’s plan is printed on 39 pages, far less than last year’s 127.
The plan next year will focus on draft strategy on sport, centralisation of education and creating an action plan for eradication of illiteracy in Serbia, Lazarevic explained and added that the plan has deadlines for implementation of some of the goals.
