The action was launched by the Serbian Assiciation of Fine Artists (ULUS) and the Serbian Clinical Centre.
The first exhibition, which took place this summer in the Cvijeta Zuzoric pavillon, raised €12,000, which was used to finance the reconstruction of the Zociste monastery. Zociste was mined in June 1999 before KFOR’s arrival and was blown up in March 2004.
The second exhibition presents 120 paintings and graphs of Serbian most distinugiushed artists, including Mladen Srbinovic, Olga Jevric and Todor Stevanovic.
Serbian Minister of Culture Dragan Kojadinovic expressed satisfiaction with the continuation of this humanitarean action and recalled that the Serbian government, UNESCO and Kosovo interim institutions invested a lot in the renovation of Serbian monasteries in Kosovo. He announced that another six sites will be renovated by the end of the year.
