In a press conference, she noted that the programme is taking place under the umbrella of the project launched by the Ministry, “Improvement of Preventive Health Services in Serbia”, which is being financed by the EU through the European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR).
She delivered certificates to doctors who received work licences for this programme according to standards of the Fetal Medicine Foundation from London.
Director of the Institute for Health Protection of Mother and Child “Dr Vukan Cupic” Dragutin Trickovic warned that there are more than 2,000 children living in Serbia with genetic disorders, while 1,300 children have mental disorders and anomalies caused by Down Syndrome.
