Bajic has been chosen by esteemed Serbian artist and academician Vladimir Velickovic, who lives and works in France, and who was recently appointed as commissioner by the Ministry of Culture for organising Serbia’s participation in one of the most important art events in the world.
This choice has been supported by the Council for organising Serbia’s presentation at the Venice Biennial, comprising Djordje Kadijevic, Stanislav Zivkovic, Sveta Bosnjak, Branko Miljus, Sinisa Vukovic and Dragan Jovanovic Danilov.
Member of the Council Djordje Kadijevic told a press conference held at the Ministry of Culture that the work of Mrdjan Bajic presents a synthesis of modern world and European trends in art and primordial, Balkan and Serbian elements, due to which, the artist is ideal for representing Serbia at the upcoming Venice Biennial.
