Chairperson of the Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) Vladimir Dimitrijević stated that polling stations for today’s early parliamentary elections opened on time, at 7 am.
Speaking at RIK’s first regular news conference, Dimitrijević explained that the opening of some polling stations was slightly delayed due to the large number of voters and the preparations made by polling station committee members ahead of the start of voting.
The RIK Chairperson stated that a total of 6,451,292 registered voters have the right to vote at 8,392 polling stations, with 18 electoral lists on the ballot.
He called on polling station committee members to maintain order at polling stations throughout election day and the voting process and to act in accordance with the law and RIK’s instructions.
Dimitrijević also recalled that polling stations will remain open until 8 pm.
