Serbian Minister of Culture Dragan Kojadinovic led a delegation of the Serbian government and Serbian experts for cultural heritage on a three-day visit to Paris, where they attended an event organised by European association of organisation for protection of cultural heritage "Europa Nostra".
Kojadinovic told the Tanjug news agency that the Serbian delegation met with representatives of interim authorities of Kosovo-Metohija in order to exchange opinions on the protection of cultural heritage in the southern Serbian province.
The Minister said that the talks passed in a very good atmosphere and that experts must have an absolute advantage over politicians when it comes to protection of cultural heritage.
When we go back to the cruel reality of Kosovo-Metohija today, we should try to meet halfway not only in order to erect again all cultural heritage that has been pulled down so far, but to repair what has been destroyed in us too, Kojadinovic said and added that such an effort is necessary so that refugees could return to Kosovo-Metohija and have conditions for a civilised life.
Owing to previous direct contacts with representative of ethnic Albanians, eight churches and monasteries will have been reconstructed by year's end, which is an excellent result when the general atmosphere in the southern Serbian province is taken into account.
