Slobodan Lalovic at today's press conference
Lalovic said at a press conference that continuous development of social dialogue both in local communities and at the level of the Republic is necessary not only because it is a significant element of the harmonisation with European standards, but also because Serbian society needs it.
Experiences show that social dialogue in Serbia is still very undeveloped and that often it is only a form, without content, which is necessary for dynamic economic development and better life of entire society.
Lalovic voiced hope that within the next three years, owing to the project adopted, a satisfactory level of dialogue will have been achieved so that trade unions, employers and the state could launch a serious campaign for reduction of unemployment as of 2008.
He added that the Socio-economic council at its session today reached a decision on the expanded jurisdiction of the Special collective agreement for employees in the social care sector, so as to include employees at the local level in addition to those working in the institutions of social care founded by the Republic.
In this way, employees in the institutions of social care will have equal working conditions, regardless of the institution's founder.
