Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, met today with Chief Executive Officer of the French Development Agency Christophe Lecourtier to discuss the continuation of exceptional cooperation, especially in the areas of the economy, infrastructure and applied sciences.

Macut highlighted the importance of the strategic partnership between Serbia and France and the continuous political dialogue between the top officials of the two countries, on which their excellent economic relations are based.
He expressed his gratitude for the confirmation of France’s participation in Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade, assessing that this event will be an additional opportunity to connect the economies and intensify cooperation between companies from both countries, as well as to present France to the whole world.
The Prime Minister highlighted interstate solidarity in emergency situations and recalled that Serbia had recently provided assistance to France in fighting fires.
The meeting also looked at infrastructure projects in Serbia, and the importance of good and regular contacts between the presidents of the two countries, as well as the constant exchange of views on current international issues, was emphasised.
Macut underlined that strong political relations represent a good basis for further strengthening economic, infrastructure and other forms of cooperation between Serbia and France, pointing out that 80% of all French investments in the Western Balkans are in Serbia.
Lecourtier said that Serbia has all the strengths needed to attract investors from all over the world and that France, as a historically confirmed friend, is ready to open a new chapter in bilateral cooperation.
