Aleksandra Kovac receives MTV Best Adriatic Act award

Singer, songwriter, arranger and producer Aleksandra Kovac won last night the prestigious MTV Europe Music Award in the Best Adriatic Act category for the region covered by MTV Adria.

At the MTV Europe Music Awards presented in Copenhagen, Kovac won the award for which other nominees were rap artist Edo Maajka, the Croatian band “Let 3”, and Slovenian singer Neisha and the band “Siddhartha”.
Kovac said in a statement to the news agency Tanjug that she is overjoyed, and this is not a victory just for her, but also for Serbian pop music.
I am proud that we have succeeded in showing that Belgrade and Serbia can successfully create something which is of international standard in music and culture, said Aleksandra Kovac.
Nominees in the category of Best Adriatic Act were selected by representatives of the music industry in the region and 50 spectators chosen at random.
All performers in the region whose music videos were aired on MTV Adria during the previous year were eligible for being nominated in this category.
