Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, today spoke with a delegation of the Canada-Serbia Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Canadian Parliament, led by the Group’s Chair Ned Kuruc, about the development of overall relations with this friendly country.

Strengthening cooperation with Canada in areas of mutual interest

Macut underlined that the delegation’s visit to Serbia provides an opportunity to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries and to discuss concrete activities that will improve citizens’ lives, such as the recently restored direct air route between Belgrade and Toronto.
The Prime Minister stated that a large number of our compatriots live in Canada and that they represent an important link in relations between the two countries and a source of support for the development of future cooperation.
The Prime Minister pointed to the importance of enhancing economic ties, especially in the areas of energy, innovation, modern technologies and trade.
Kuruc underlined that the visit by the Canadian Parliament delegation to Belgrade is the right moment to begin discussions on concrete steps towards advancing cooperation between Serbia and Canada.
