“This festival of Eid-ul-Fitr has arrived during a week in which the citizens of Serbia will vote on the new Constitution, whose decrees guarantee full equality to all our citizens, regardless of their religion and ethnic origin, as well as the free development of all minority communities, in keeping with the spirit of their traditions and interests, and in accordance with highest democratic standards and universal human values.
It is our sincere wish that all Muslims in Serbia spend this day of celebration marking the end of Ramadan in contentment, peace and joy, with pride in belonging to the mighty community of Islam, capable of working for general welfare and the good of their country Serbia.
The Ministry of Religion wishes all the representatives and members of the Islamic community in Serbia to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr in good health and optimism, with the conviction that the Ministry will support all efforts aiming at the welfare, unity and free development of the Islamic community in Serbia,” reads the Minister’s greeting letter.
