Health workers to receive 23.8% salary increase in November

Serbian Minister of Health Tomica Milosavljevic – and Minister of Finance Mladjan Dinkic proposed today in the talks with three representative trade unions of health workers that the November salaries increase by 23.8%.
Non-medicinal workers employed in the health sector should get 9.4% salary increase, which would make a total increase 15.5% for this year while this year’s increase for medicinal workers will reach 46%.
After this salary increase, a subspecialist with no previous work experience should get a salary of €600.
Additional salary increase of 21.8% is planned for university educated workers in 2007, workers with secondary and post-secondary school should get a salary increase of 14% in 2007, while others would get a 9.65% next year.
That way, a subspecialist should receive a salary of around €720 next year.
The two ministers said that the salary increase is substantial and expressed hope that trade unions will accept the offer.
