Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, spoke today with President of the National Council of the Macedonian National Minority Zorica Mitrović about improving the position of members of this national minority.
Macut emphasised that the national councils of national minorities are the state’s partners in exercising the rights and freedoms of members of these minorities, to which Serbia is fully committed.
National minorities are the true wealth of this state, of which we are very proud, said the Prime Minister, adding that respect for diversity and equality of all citizens are the foundation of a healthy and progressive society.
He stated that Serbia and North Macedonia are fraternal and friendly states, oriented towards cooperation, respect and common prosperity.
The meeting discussed the anniversary that will be marked in a few days in Novi Sad – the 80th anniversary of the settlement of Macedonians in Vojvodina.
The Prime Minister recalled that this year also marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with this country.
