Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, stated, regarding tonight’s riots, that he strongly condemns all forms of violence on the streets of Belgrade.
“I strongly condemn all forms of violence on the streets of Belgrade. Today, more than ever, Serbia needs a stable and peaceful course, in order to show that we have the capacity for dialogue, mutual respect and democratic expression of different opinions.
Serbia is a democratic state in which everyone has the right to express their views peacefully and with dignity, but violence, clashes with the police, destruction of property and endangering the safety of citizens are not and cannot be a way of political struggle.
I call on all citizens to be calm, responsible and restrained,” the Prime Minister said on his Instagram account.
