Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, addressed today the CEE – Western Balkans Energy, Infrastructure & Industrial Security Forum, which is being held at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
Macut stressed that the choice of Belgrade as the host of this gathering confirms Serbia’s position as an important geographical and political centre of this part of Europe.
The Prime Minister stated that the topics of the forum – connectivity, energy diversification and the construction of new infrastructure – are the focus of the work of the Government of Serbia, and that the goal is to additionally connect digital spaces, economies and people in addition to physical infrastructure.
The Prime Minister also pointed out the importance of security in modern conditions, noting that supply chain security, energy and digital security are key pillars of a stable economy and a secure state.
According to him, regional cooperation and exchange of experiences are of crucial importance for strengthening the resilience of economies and more efficient responses to global challenges.
He added that Serbia remains committed to improving the investment environment and developing infrastructure projects that contribute to the long-term stability and economic growth of the region.
Macut said that the participants of the forum will always have a reliable partner in the Government of Serbia, adding that state institutions and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce are ready to support cooperation and the implementation of joint projects.
The Prime Minister wished the participants successful work and expressed his gratitude for having gathered in Belgrade to discuss issues of importance for the energy, infrastructure and industrial future of the region.
According to him, Serbia is a reliable and secure partner for Italy, and the ties between the two countries are traditional and long-standing.
The forum is organised by Confindustria Serbia, Confindustria Eastern Europe, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and OICE (Association of Engineering, Architectural and Technical-Economic Consulting Organisations of Italy), under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy and the Embassy of Italy in Belgrade, in partnership with SOGESID S.p.A. and FIRA.
The forum is attended by representatives of institutions, industry, companies and the financial sector from the Central and Eastern Europe and Western Balkans regions, as well as along the Adriatic-Black Sea-Central Asia corridor.
