Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, was today awarded the Order of the Serbian Red Cross, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the organisation’s existence.
This special order, a replica of the first order of the Red Cross Society of the Principality of Serbia from 1876, as well as recognition for support, exceptional cooperation and contribution to the advancement of the humanitarian mission of this organisation, was presented to the Prime Minister by the President of the Red Cross, Professor Dragan Radovanović, MD, DSc.
Macut expressed his gratitude for the order and recognition and congratulated the Serbian Red Cross on this great anniversary.
The Prime Minister emphasised that this organisation has made a great contribution to making our society even more humane and united, which places it among the organisations of invaluable importance for Serbian society.
The President of the Serbian Red Cross expressed his gratitude to the Government of Serbia and Prime Minister Macut for their support for this organisation, especially in terms of the work of soup kitchens.
