Bojan Dimitrijevic
Dimitrijevic told the Tanjug news agency that these loans are intended for the private sector exclusively and that a rank list of applications will be made. The applications that will be considered are those that require investment of over 20 million dinars. The commission will consider their economic profitability and possibilities for loan repayment.
He said that the loans will be approved under favourable conditions, with a 1% annual interest rate. The funds are intended for the development of accommodation capacities, entertainment and recreational programmes, and tourist infrastructure.
According to Dimitrijevic, €9 million will be set aside from the National Investment Plan for ski centres and development of Danube River infrastructure, and €2 million for education, information systems and tourist signalling.
Dimitrijevic said that in the course of the next year, some 20 projects should be realised in association with local self-governments - on Srebrno Jezero, Golija, Zlatibor, Divcibare, Rakovac, Soko Banja, Palic and Fruska Gora, while for localities Viminacium and Gamzigrad €310,000 and €150,000 respectively have been envisaged.
The Minister said that the funds for Vrnjacka Banja, Djerdap and Vlasinsko Jezero have already been released.
According to Dimitrijevic, an agency for development of tourism will be formed next year, which will work on the development of tourist destinations. It will be authorised to book space, secure all necessary documentation and arrange agreements with investors. The Agency will have its own funds for investing in the development of infrastructure, but its main task will be private investments, Dimitrijevic added.
