Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, attended today the ceremonial marking of the Day of the Unit for the Protection of Designated Persons and Facilities (JZO).
Macut stated that, through its work, particularly over the past dynamic year full of challenges, the Unit has demonstrated the resilience of the security system.
The Prime Minister expressed great respect and gratitude to the members of the Unit, who, as he noted, are a guarantee of the country’s stability.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić announced that the Ministry of the Interior will continue to invest in strengthening capacities – personnel, equipment and expertise.
As part of the ceremony, a demonstration exercise of VIP protection at the Expo 2027 event was conducted, including, among other elements, the reception of persons at the airport, the actions of the close protection team, with the assistance of members of the Traffic Police Directorate, as well as the use of drones.
