Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić had a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.
The interlocutors highlighted their commitment to the policy pursued by the presidents of the two countries aimed at developing and further strengthening bilateral relations, and expressed satisfaction with the agreement reached in the field of energy.
Lavrov reiterated the principled position of the Russian Federation on the issue of preserving the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, emphasising that the Russian side will support the resolution of the issue of Kosovo and Metohija in accordance with the interests of Serbia and the principles of international law.
Dačić expressed his gratitude to the Russian Federation for the cooperation in the field of internal affairs and emergency situations to date, expressing his belief that it will be even more successful in the coming period, based on the foundations of strategic partnership, centuries-old friendship, developed cooperation in all fields, as well as strong mutual support and understanding.
He also expressed his gratitude for the letter of support that Lavrov sent him during his treatment in the intensive care unit of the Clinical Centre of Serbia.
