Train with Serbian products departs for Hebei Province

Belgrade, 1 April 2026

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarović visited, together with Governor of Hebei Province Wang Zhengpu, the intermodal terminal in Batajnica, from where a train carrying Serbian products departed for that Chinese province and the International Land Port in Shijiazhuang.

Mesarović underlined that Serbian products, both in terms of price and quality, are absolutely competitive and have the potential to reach end customers in China.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that she discussed with the Governor of Hebei Province specific steps for the additional promotion of Serbian products, primarily wines, brandies, honey and other products, for which there is already interest in other parts of China.

She particularly emphasised that it is important to ensure more efficient distribution, transport and placement channels, so that Serbia’s products can reach the market of the People's Republic of China as quickly and safely as possible.

A train with Serbian goods reaches its destination in about 20 days, and rail transport is one of the most favourable and efficient modes of transport for the further development of Serbia’s trade cooperation with China, Mesarović concluded.
