Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, today visited Knjaževac, where he toured the Health Centre and a modern wellness and rehabilitation centre and met with businesspeople and residents.
During the visit, Macut highlighted the importance of the mobile outpatient clinic project, emphasising that it is the state’s obligation to ensure that healthcare reaches every citizen, without exception.
He confirmed that the first phase of the reconstruction of the Health Centre in Knjaževac will soon begin, which, as he said, is an important step towards the modernisation of healthcare infrastructure, better conditions for medical workers and higher-quality healthcare services for citizens that meet the standards of modern medicine.
The Prime Minister said at the rehabilitation centre that the start of the centre’s work, in addition to demonstrating the development of health tourism, directly contributes to reducing waiting lists for physical medicine and rehabilitation.
At the same time, it creates opportunities for the development of a genuine spa destination in this area, which can have wider economic and tourism significance, Macut added.
He concluded that all these investments together show that the state is systemically investing in healthcare, as well as in Serbia’s balanced development.
