Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, met today with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Government of National Unity of the State of Libya Taher Salem Al-Baour, emphasising that his visit represents an important step in strengthening relations and cooperation between the two friendly countries.

Room for intensifying cooperation with Libya

Macut and Al-Baour underlined that relations between the two countries are characterised by decades-long friendship and cooperation, noting that there is room and potential for intensifying ties, to the benefit of both states and peoples.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to Libya for its support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, as well as for its announced participation in Specialised Expo 2027, which, as he said, will provide an opportunity for the country to present its potential.
He emphasised that the good political relations should serve as a basis for building stronger ties in the economy, business and other areas, such as healthcare, education and culture.
We have many opportunities to re-establish bridges that existed in the past, the Prime Minister stated.
Al-Baour conveyed to Macut the greetings of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity of the State of Libya and an invitation to visit the country.
