Strengthening economic cooperation between Serbia, Hungary

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarović assessed today that cooperation between Serbia and Hungary is strengthening in all areas and that an additional contribution will come from the establishment of traffic on the Belgrade–Budapest railway.

After the session of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation between Serbia and Hungary, at which four documents were signed, Mesarović emphasised that today’s establishment of freight traffic on the Belgrade-Budapest railway will contribute to faster exchange of goods, but also to stronger economic cooperation.

The Deputy Prime Minister announced that economic cooperation between the two countries will be intensified, and that she will visit Budapest on 19 March, where she will present our economic potential to the Hungarian business community.

We offer a predictable and encouraging business environment and we can join a supply chain that can represent a huge development opportunity, Mesarović said.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed her gratitude to Hungary for its help in solving the problem of professional Serbian truck drivers, whose stay in the Schengen zone is restricted.

According to her, during today’s session of the aforementioned commission, an agreement was reached to work on promoting Serbian and Hungarian food products and on how to make Serbian products available in Hungarian retail chains, as well as Hungarian products in Serbian ones.
