The auction is a gift to the monastery from Serbian artists living and working in Paris.
Serbian Minister of Culture Dragan Kojadinovic thanked the artists and said that the auction is not only a proof that "Hilandar is still in the public eye", but also represents "a testimony of a continuing awareness of Hilandar's importance and place, since the monastery has for centuries been one of the main sources of our faith and culture".
The auction was led by curator Nikola Kusovac and 34 art pieces were sold.
