Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, spoke today with representatives of the association of patients with diabetes about improving healthcare and the position of patients, as well as the availability of therapy.
Macut said that the state will continue to strengthen systemic support for these patients by improving health services and preventive programmes.
The Prime Minister emphasised that the state, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the National Health Insurance Fund, will continue activities aimed at further improving preventive programs and developing support measures for people with diabetes.
It was also noted that the Ministry of Health and the National Health Insurance Fund have taken significant steps in the previous period to improve the availability of therapies and modern medical devices for patients with diabetes.
Representatives of the association pointed out the importance of the availability of modern therapy, regular check-ups and continuous education of patients.
The interlocutors agreed that dialogue between institutions and patient associations and raising awareness about healthy lifestyles are key to long-term improvement of public health.
