In an interview with Tanjug, Parivodic stressed that the expected investment should be contributed by the new law regulating this field, the adoption of which is expected soon.
The law on foreign investment will give significant role to municipality presidents who should influence the local authorities to come up with incentives for investment, he said.
Parivodic explained that an investment agreement should be an agreement between a foreign investor, municipality president and all state bodies participating in realisation of the project, which will contribute to a greater degree of predictability and transparency, which will consequently reduce corruption and increase safety of foreign investors.
The Minister said that efficiency with getting licences will attract investors to choose Serbia instead of some other country, which will solve the most important economic problem in the country – unemployment.
He said that parliament should adopt the law on restitution this autumn so as to prevent further sale of property which is to be returned to previous owners.
The Minister announced that under the Law on return of property to churches and other religious communities, a national institution named restitution administration will be formed and it will have branch offices across Serbia.
Church property is estimated to be less than 3% of the total property to be restituted so the administration will probably be in charge of returning property to citizens, Parivodic added.
