Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, talked today with nuns of the Žiča monastery about the renovation of this holy place and the formation of a special advisory body under the auspices of the Prime Minister, in whose work the line ministries would take part.

According to the nuns, there are a total of six churches within the monastery complex that are in need of renovation – from a static assessment to a new façade.
The importance of Žiča is evidenced by the fact that seven Serbian rulers were crowned in this monastery and the Serbian state was confirmed internationally.
The nuns recalled that the monastery complex was heavily damaged in 1941 and the complete renovation of the monastery would be the first since the Nemanjić era.
